Many scientists believe that the concept of education will be changed completely in the near future.

The learning won’t be based on memorization, the human brain won’t need to load different information, this process will be replaced by the virtual knowledge base. In a few years, students will be able to get the answers to the exam questions within the seconds. They suggest that very soon, computers and the Google Glasses will transform into tiny lenses that will allow you to download all the necessary information. Therefore: it is enough to blur – and the necessary information will appear.

People will be more engaged in self-education, choosing information on their own and being well aware of what knowledge they need. And if they need advice, they will get it, for example, from a “smart” wall.  In the near future, the devices based on artificial intelligence technologies will be located everywhere: in apartments, offices, on the streets. It will be enough to approach the wall and say: “I want to talk to a professor of psychology.” And then the scientist appears on the electronic wall and gives you all the necessary information.

Portfolio instead of marks

We often say that knowledge is more important than the marks we get. They are subjective, they are standardized, they cannot give an actual data about abilities and skills of a person, but they can motivate students even more than acquiring knowledge.

In the school of the future, knowledge will be the priority for the students. The portfolio will become more important than marks. During the studying, the student will receive diplomas for achievements indifferent intellectual contests, awards for participation in competitions. This is very reasonable decision as it will give much more information to the employer, who will also be able to see your real accomplishments. The fact that you created an application for the global market in the sixth grade will tell the employer more than just “excellent” in computer science in the certificate.

Self-education will prevail

As our modern technologies are constantly developing, and the level of using them in the educational institutions is growing, we have to keep up with the pace. An access to almost all information is easy, fast and affordable. All you need is to pay for your Internet connection, and the electronic encyclopedias and different information resources are open to you. But, who knows, with Elon Musk’s plans for the space WIFI very soon we won’t have to pay even that fees.

We will have Internet in every place we go, having permanent access to the knowledge we need. Among the great number of online courses, you are able to to find just right for you and learn it at any convenient time without leaving your home. As you can see the self-education becomes popular nowadays, can you imagine what will be in the future?

The emphasis on creativity

Your own projects will be valued more than marks – and this fact has its confirmation. When you look back at the history, you can notice how people gradually move from manual labor.

It is possible that the necessity of physical labor will sooner or later be reduced to zero. It will be possible to automate even the majority of cognitive processes.
Technologies have given us plenty of resources and opportunities in order to reveal ourselves, create art and share it with the world. According to this, many predict that the educational priorities will be creative abilities, and the main layer of society will be a creative class.

The role of the teacher will be changed

It is assumed that in the school of the future border will be blurred not only between ages but also between social roles. An individual approach will intensify: a teacher can take on the role of a personal tutor and oversee a single student or a group of students.

On the other hand, taking into account the “constructive” approach to secondary education, the dynamics of social roles can become even stronger. For example, the teacher can teach the student elementary particle physics, and after forty minutes the pupil will teach the teacher a lesson in philology.

Therefore, the role of the school will change: it will not be entirely geared towards preparing for a profession. Instead, children will develop their ability to retrain, teach them to change quickly, and so on. Since teachers are no longer the only source of knowledge, because there is an Internet connection, they will turn into mentors: they will teach students to work with information, apply their knowledge.

In a few years, your teacher may be a computer program. And in the distant future, education will look like a virtual game. We never know what expects us even tomorrow. However, we all should hope for the better, developing and improving the current situation in our educational field. And remember, ‘Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.’
