Scientists have been wondering how cavemen developed the process of thinking. How did they comprehend the events of the day? Actually, thinking is a process of considering concepts. We do not think with words, we do not create sentences in our minds. Cavemen acted in the same way and even simpler. Only concepts, not words.

HOW LANGUAGE HELPS US THINK
The thing that distinguishes us from animals is the ability to involve cognitive thinking while communicating. The ability to analyze and combine words in sentences is human’s distinctive feature. Language is necessary for abstract thinking. Language gives us a system that organizes thoughts into logical chains. Nevertheless, basic thinking does not always require a sentence structure. Some kind of inner voice exists in everybody and applies our thoughts to what we are likely to do in this world.

There are people with autism who do not have any speaking ability. Still, they certainly have thinking. Human beings were gifted with five senses. They use the sense of sight to perceive the visual world that surrounds them. Music is also a way of thinking – it has tempo and beat, and is formed as a mathematical system. Even if there is a possibility to think without language, speech really helps us think.

Language development can be dubious. Sometimes people may talk even not understanding each other. Some people try to consider the vagueness of speech to avoid misunderstanding. These people, as listeners, often try to define the statements, which can be ambiguous, to avoid language fallacies that can arise during communication.

HOW TO THINK FASTER
Wordless thinking may result in quicker processing of information. Abstract thinking is the thing that only humans can do. Sometimes symbols are ideal means to represent concepts. Moreover, fast thinking can be reached through these abstract images. When you think about any life experience, you feel emotions, not sentences appearing in your mind. The purpose of language can be sometimes differently interpreted. When you see a beautiful picture, you do not describe it to yourself in words. On the contrary, you feel positive emotions that simply arise in your head much faster than structured sentences.
