Physician Query

Mary Query is the Director of HIM. She notices that there are many charts not being coded timely. When she speaks to the Coding Manager, she discovers that many physician queries are sent to the physician via email and they receive no response. What should Mary do? What are some of the issues with using email for the query process? CDI Ken Coder, RHIT, CCS has been an inpatient coder for 10 years. He is interested in working in CDI. He has some experience performing coding audits and has inserviced new Residents each July about documentation.
