The story is of an individual who is trying to pass information to the people regarding the effects of alcoholism and the need to help those who are addicted or abusers of drugs to come out of the slavery. The baseline of the story is on about two brothers who are struggling to make it in life. However, the difference between the two brothers is the fact that one is serious and working towards being better but cannot manage because he has to cater to the brother who is an addict.

Ben managed to handle despite his condition as an amputee. Considering the fact that he was restricted from the work, he could do and the demands his brother had, it is unimaginable how he managed to take care of the two of them. The prize of alcohol is an addiction; a situation that is not easy to overcome when finally lands in that point. Similarly, the price of alcohol is the effects that one suffers as a result as Ben had his legs cut leaving him an amputee.

The main point in the story is the struggle by Ben to keep his brother out of alcoholism. He struggles to not only meet their bills but to also be able to take care of his brother.  Ben struggles and does everything to ensure that William is comfortable. He works hard to pay the bills but William does not see the sad life that he puts his brother through.
