I believe that one of the biggest issues faced today especially in healthcare is the lack of knowledge and understanding of other individuals’ faith. Taking this into consideration, today, there are many studies based on religion in healthcare. Spiritual beliefs can play a significant role in helping patients cope with the disease as well as face death. Therefore, it is fundamental that healthcare professionals understand and respect those beliefs (Puchalski, 2001). More importantly, it is essential for healthcare professionals to understand the patients’ beliefs owing to the fact that these beliefs may be dynamic in the patient’s understanding of the disease.
