Abortion should not be illegalized

Abortion is the termination of pregnancy. Lack of proper training and knowledge in regards to family planning and birth controls has significantly increased unwanted pregnancies. To solve the problem, women and girls terminate a pregnancy because of unreadiness to have the baby based on social status, for example, school and college girls, financial instability, unstable relationships, rape and related sexual crimes, hence, abortion occurs. Therefore, abortion should be allowed for some cases and hence, the paper seeks to explain why abortion should not be illegalized.

When women decide to abort, they are unstoppable; they do it in secret without proper medical care risking their lives regardless of laws in place. Reports show nearly tens of thousands of women die trying out an illegal abortion; there have been debates on whether abortion should be legalised to safeguard women’s lives and health. (Callahan 33-42). In America, abortion-related deaths reduced after the Supreme Court legalised abortion in 1973 (Weinstock et al. 23-31)

Anti-abortion argues that the unborn fetus has the right to life. Thus, it is murder. A lot of unborn babies have been killed around the world due to abortion, it is also against Christian believes that argue life starts at conception and therefore aborting as a sin. Besides the women risk their lives where by they might never give birth again or may die in the process of abortion.

In conclusion, due to the significant increase in unwanted pregnancies, abortion should be made legal to safeguard women’s life and health. There should be more training on family planning and birth controls in local clinics, thus decrease in abortion.
