ANALYSIS OF DEV CORDOBA CASE STUDY 

 

Subjective: CC(chief complaint): “My mum said you can help me be better” HPI: D.C. is a 7 y/o white male presents to the clinic with his mother for psychiatry assessment. The patient reports feeling worried about his mother and his brother all the time even when he is at school. He reported that all he can think of is what they are doing and whether they are okay. He stated that he dreams almost every night that that he is lost and cannot find his mother or his little brother. The patient however, denies to ever being lost. He reported that his teacher always tells him to sit down and focus in class to a point that she moved his desk besides hers. He admitted to being irritable and throwing a book at a fellow student. The mother reiterated most of the things the patient reported. According to her, D.C. is always anxious and worried that she is going to die. She reports that he throws things around the house and often gets in trouble at school for throwing things. She also reported that he has trouble sleeping, has lost appetite prompting him to lose three pounds in three weeks, and doesn’t want to be in school as he often feigns illness so that he can go home. The patient has enuresis and does not respond to DDVP. The family pediatrician referred him to the clinic as he doesn’t believe there anything physically wrong with the patient. The patient has no psychiatry history. Substance Current Use: No substance abuse history Medical History: No medical history
