An average human has countless interpersonal relations with other people in his or her daily life.
Within these interactions, the individual may feel moved or overwhelmed by the situation of
another individual. To fully understand their situation, the individual will therefore imagine
himself as being in the position the second individual is in (Davis, 2017). In other words, he
vicariously lives and experiences the situation on the second individual.
