Individuals are naturally wired to consider their perspective and views as being superior as
compared to the perspective of others. In perspective taking, an individual is more open to
alternate views from other individuals. This in essence means that they consider the ideas and
points of view of other people and considering them as equally important (Longmire & Harrison,
2018).

Perspective taking involves being open to other people`s views. This will then require an
individual to be keen and detailed in noting the alternate views from other individuals. By doing
this, it also becomes easier to identify the mental states of the individuals by their views and the
way in which they convey the same.

If adopted, perspective taking can immensely contribute to group collaboration. In any given
group, the views of each individual should be considered as important and hence listened to and
paid attention to. This creates diverse ideas with every member feel appreciated and part of the
team hence a more collaborative effort towards achieving any set end goals.
