Discuss the type of integration data from your defined patient population in Topic 4 DQ 1 would require. How could the EHR database facilitate this type of integration between clinical and administration systems

According to Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), healthcare data interoperability is the capacity of differing information technologies and their software applications to integrate through communication or exchange of data and make use of that information (Primeau, 2020). EHR database can be the pathway of this exchange of information. However, there needs to be an emphasis to make this a priority so that companies are incentivized to work together. The current challenge is that administrative and clinical data are regulated by different technical standards. This means that the different systems use different codes and are subject to different rules. These rules and laws make up how the entities are formed, therefore, how information is stored and shared. This creates barriers toward a seamless integration of information from one system to another. Therefore, lobbying for data integration becomes an important aspect to improving the over healthcare experience. Reference Primeau, D.
