DQ: Identify One Professional Journal And One Nursing Or Health Care Conference Where You Might Present Your Project

My capstone change project is on fall prevention, the use of bed alarms and the implementation of hourly rounding. The occurrence of falls is a common problem that can occur in the hospital setting or care facilities alike. The occurrence of falls places patients to be at risk for multiple adverse effects and outcomes. Patients can be at risk for prolonged hospital stays and injuries. The occurrence of falls places a great impact on the quality of life of the patients as well. As nurses, placing interventions to prevent these falls from occurring is a great deal of importance. Placing independent nursing interventions is vital to prevent the occurrence of falls from occurring in patients. The implementation of hourly rounding comes with interventions to prevent falls as well. The journal that can be useful for this intervention is The American Journal of Nursing. This journal is one of the most honored nursing journals in the world (The American Journal of Nursing, 2022).

This journal looks at the use of evidence-based submissions on a large clinical level. It looks at numerous case studies, reports, manuscripts, and narrative reports. It even looks at submissions from artwork and poetry as it relates to nursing and healthcare world (The American Journal of Nursing, 2022). The mission of this journal l looks to promote the excellence of nursing and healthcare through evidence-based work. It looks at the relevance of research, and to promote the perspectives of nursing to the healthcare of the community and of the public world (The American Journal of Nursing, 2022). This journal would be great with my capstone change project. As this journal looks at the perspective of nursing and the use of evidence-based practices. Being able to promote the implementation of hourly rounding is a great evidence-based practice to implement. This helps to promote the use of patient centered care.

Promoting its benefits is important to promote to the public, and to the patients that are in our care. When it comes to the conference for this intervention, I feel that I would start locally. Promoting its benefits and outreach to the community and to the community hospitals would be a great start. At my place of work, we have multiple different conferences when it comes to the promotion of evidence-based practices and research. Starting with the nurses and of the healthcare staff is how this can be outreached to the staff and of the community. As the elderly community are at an increased risk of falls, outreaching and teaching the community is a great start. There are many elderly patients that are seen and cared for in my community. Teaching them ways to prevent these falls is important. Many come in with falls and injuries. Being able to promote fall risk interventions is a great way to protect the health of the community. Promoting evidence-based practices and research from the local level is a great way to understand the resources that are available to prevent these falls. Starting at the local level is a way to promote change and to implement change in other communities.
