CC (chief complaint): The patient has visited the hospital complaining of dull knee pain. They

also experience regular clicking on one or both knees.

HPI: The 15-year-old African American teenage boy exhibits serious and chronic pain in both

his knees. Other symptoms he shared include a catching sensation under the patella and regular

clicking of the knees.

Location: Knees

Onset: 3 days ago

Character: Clicking of the knees, catching sensation under the patella.

Associated signs and symptoms: Instability, weakness, clicking noises, swelling and stiffness.

Timing: After sitting down in the same position for a while or in the morning after waking up.

Exacerbating/ relieving factors: Ice reduces some of the pain, compression, elevation, and rest.

Severity: 7/10 pain scale
