The proposed Hospital Acquire Pressure Injuries (HAPI) project shall be implemented in
an acute care hospital setting serving patients with less mobility and prolonged hospital stay.
Stakeholders in this implementation plan are nurse leaders and care providers involved in daily
attendance on the critical target population. Before beginning the project in the hospital,
management approval will be sought, besides informing the essential stakeholders of the needs
and aim of the proposed HAPI project. Also, it is paramount to tell the hospital that the
implementation plan adheres to strict use of ethical principles, such as seeking approval from the
participants before implementation. Staff members will be briefed on the project expectation and
their roles during the execution of the projects. Additionally, patients will be informed of the
possibility of quitting at their own will during the process. Subject for study are patients who
have developed pressure ulcers regardless of the stage of infection; stage one to stage four. The
onset of a pressure ulcer on patients compromises the quality of life causes pain, isolation, and
even death (Chaboyer et al., 2018). Therefore, addressing this issue helps avoid preventable
health conditions and reduce the cost of hospitalization and death.
Question two: Timeline
This proposed project is scheduled to be implemented in six weeks. During the first week
and second week, the team of professionals will convene and be trained on their roles. Nurse
leaders and care providers will form this multidisciplinary team. Patients’ immediate family
members and their caregivers shall also be trained on the roles expected of them in the plan. In
the second week, the implementation team members shall obtain necessary information about the
patients and implement the proposed changes.
