Evidence-Based Strategies to Promote Interprofessional Collaboration in the ATT

According to the systematic review conducted by Schot et al., 2020, there are a
variety of factors that promote interprofessional collaboration. The interprofessional
collaboration will be important in ensuring the success of the Advocacy Action Team.
Among the strategies concluded by Schot from the systematic reviews was the bridging of
professional, social and physical gaps between the members of the given team where there is
a need for interprofessional collaboration. Bridging professional gaps can be implemented by
creating an environment where all the professionals in the team are considered equal and their
contributions are taken regardless of their professions. Bridging physical gaps may mean
arranging for online meetings in the event where the team members are physically apart. This
leads to the next strategy, constant communication. Communication is usually the key to the
transfer and receival of information and ideas. In the interprofessional team, communication
should be key to ensure efficiency and collaboration from each member of the team.
