The ways I determine if a source is scholarly is to first see if the source was peer reviewed by experts
to determine if the information within is accurate and unbiased. Another thing I always look at is who
funded the research or experiments in the given source. For example, if an experiment was conducted to
say that soda can have some positive health benefits but is funded by Coca-Cola, it is likely not a
scholarly source. Lastly, I look into the author of the source and what their expertise are if any. If a
person who specializes in the environment and pollution decides to write an article on brain function
and has no background in brain function their source is probably not scholarly
