The three examples of plagiarism are copy pasting the exact content from a website, paraphrasing and summarizing content without proper citation and accidently neglecting information by paraphrasing another authors content. Plagiarism affects the integrity of a baccalaureate degree (BSN) as the student can get zero credit for the course, they have written by paraphrasing another paper and not giving the author any credit. Thus, the student can be expelled from a university and will not be able to finish by baccalaureate degree. Plagiarism affects the integrity of the public perception of the nursing profession as the student will not be taken seriously by their patient or their coworkers due to their inability to strategically perform care. Therefore, the student will not be able to advance and step up in their career. Plagiarism affects the integrity of the evidence-based practice by affecting the students’ career negatively. For example, if the student writes their essay word for word by copy pasting the content, he or she will not be able to gain any knowledge about the topic. Thus, the student will not be able to provide excellent nursing care to the patient. And therefore, it would affect my career negatively. One thing that I can do to ensure academic integrity in my work is by giving the author credit by citing the sources used in my paper.
