The patient taken into consideration in this investigation is called Mrs. Spinner who is a 46-year old woman referred by her husband. The patient companies of having attacks of dizziness which leave her incapacitated. The patient presents that she has dizziness 4-5 times a week. The attacks mainly occur at 4 pm and she ends up lying down up to 7 or 8 pm. She claims to be spending much time after feeling better watching television and falling asleep on the couch. On having an evaluation and getting tests, it is found that all the tests are negative. She has complained of having verbal abuse from her husband. This paper focuses on the examination of the diagnosis, treatment plan, and prognosis of the patient.
From the case, it is evident that the patient is suffering from a condition called conversion disorder.
