Case Study #1

Using Leininger’s Culture Care Model, what factors in the story shared by Mrs. Franklin-Jones should be considered by Nurse Hernandez when planning for the patient’s discharge?

Leininger’s culture care model is a theory of culture care diversity as well as the university creative outcome that allows for independent thinking of a person. The thoughts are mainly focused on the way that one can be able to view the changing environment. The theory was designed by Madeleine Leininger and is aimed at the designation of culturally congruent nursing care (McFarland, 2021). This is to be attained by the enhancement of supportive and cognitive-based care and ensuring that there is an enabling environment for the decisions to be made. The success in the use of this theory is based on the use of the lifestyle and the culture of a person.

The nurse is supposed to take into account various factors including the cases of technology, religion, and philosophy. The other factors that are supposed to be taken into account are the beliefs as well as the lifestyle of the population. The legal, ethical, and educational factors as well are supposed to be considered in the assessment. The financial capacity of the patient is as well supposed to be considered in the investigation (Wehbe-Alamah, 2018). 

These factors as included in the culture model include the fact that as presented in the scenario, there is a plan for the patient to be discharged and the values and culture of the patients are supposed to be taken into consideration. This as well should include things that should be eaten and avoided for the elimination of myocardial infarction
