Cultural Community Needs

  1. Describe specific culture/ethnic population selected in detail.

Mexicans and Hispanics make a large population of Latino ethnic communities. For example, a nurse from Latin America will be confident attending to Portuguese Spanish, and English speaking teens. English is paramount everywhere and native languages for nurses and entire caregivers are the only learning components of language that needs to be mastered. This population depends on manual work as immigrants but some are lucky to work as practitioners  in major hospitals in the U.S. the main focus on this group of American community is due to the increase in their health disparities regarding drug and substance abuse and thee therapy sessions undertaken by practitioners.

  1. Describe rationale for selecting this population.

The need for therapy sessions helps in the rehabilitation of young teens and possible drug abusers in the future. I resonate with one instance where Cuban doctors were assigned to treat and train staff in a small American hospital, language barrier came to full blast. Such incidences arise when the leadership of healthcare facilities is not active in their functioning. In most clinical examinations, the U.S hospitals have more South American communities with drug problems ranging from many alcohol and narcotics.

  1. Describe a cultural/ethnic need within your area, clinical practice, or community.

The hospital had most nurses in the emergency room speaking pure American English. Drug abuse in the South American communities and specifically Mexicans simply by culture awareness.  However, there are also considerable improvements on healthy persons coming from the same ethnic group. The development is achieved by continuous trainings and therapy sessions undertaken by the healthcare professionals in the previous years.

  1. Describe the approved health issue from your chosen cultural population.

The discussion on this healthcare issue is vital in assessing the pros and cons when trying    to rehabilitate this ethnic society to eliminate drug abuse that leads to criminal activities. The above concepts are related in the sense that one leads to another. An example is the fact that most Mexicans, Cubans, and Hispanics engage in drug smuggling and crime to sustain their lives blaming inequality in job security and lifestyle audits.
