Discussion: Week 10 One of the first steps in conducting research is identifying the problem and formulating a research question. Unanswered issues in current clinical practice or when experiences dictate alternative therapies are both reasons to provoke an investigator to formulate a clinical research question (De & Singh, 2019). The objective of critically analyzing current practice to formulate researchable problems was accomplished by learning how to identify an existing problem affecting the U.S. The problem I recognized and was of interest to me, was the obesity epidemic. The coursework completed in this course taught me considerations to look for when formulating my research question. For instance, I learned a well- formulated research question should be specific and precise and will guide the implementation of the project, keeping in mind the identification of variables and the population of interest.
