NURS 8201 Week 7 Discussion: Use Of Regression Analysis In Clinical Practice

Regression analysis encompasses a set of statistical methods that help estimate the relationship between a dependent variable and one or more independent variables (Sarstedt et al., 2019). It is also a type of data analysis that explains how study variables change over time and across different variables. Indeed, regression analysis allows researchers to predict and explore future outcomes (Sarstedt et al., 2019). For instance, regression analysis can help propose new treatments, determine prevention methods, or promote opportunities for learning. Linear regression is one of the analyses that is used to determine a line that best represents the general trend of a data set (Schober & Vetter, 2021). In other words, linear regression estimates the relationship between a scalar response and one or more independent variables.
