OBM: Systems Analysis
The organizational behavior management (OBM) topic chosen for this literature review is systems analysis. The term “systems analysis” refers to the study and change of organizational processes in order to maximize the organization’s benefits. As per systems analysis, individuals or groups of workers operate on a sequence of interdependent activities that result in the development of services or products that are significant to the corporation overall. According to Rodriguez & McGee (2019), at the system level action entails altering the sequence or allocation of duties and building efficient workflow procedures in order to improve the efficacy with which activities are done.

 

Organizations are recognized as adaptable systems composed up of interconnected pieces in systems analysis (McGee & Diener, 2010). Any modifications in one element of the organization will influence the rest of the organization and the organization as a whole (McGee & Diener, 2010). Only by identifying which areas of the organization are most impacted by transition and then evaluating how each aspect of the organization functions collectively can the organization adjust coherently (Diener et al., 2009). Comprehending these interrelationships is a complicated task. As such, systems analysis entails categorizing organizations into three thresholds of analysis to offer a comprehensive vision of the way an organization performs. The three levels include organizational level, process level, and performer level. Despite the fact that each level concentrates on various organizational factors, achieving organizational congruence is a crucial aim of systems analysis (Rodriguez & McGee, 2019). When the objectives and approaches at each level of the organization lead to shared objectives instead of individual objectives, this is known as organizational congruence. Organization-wide transformation is more productive when everyone is on the same line.
This literature review was informative as I was able to learn that system analysis impacts all organizational processes. I also got to know that in systems analysis, organizations are broken down into three levels, including, organizational, process, and performer levels. Systems analysis is applicable to supervisory practices since it involves supervising performance in accordance with organizational goals.
