Describe the Population Health concern you selected and the factors that contribute to it.  Alcohol abuse is increasingly, and alarming health problem  in the United States and  globally. Alcoholism  is when an individual becomes addicted to alcohol, to the extent that he  cannot function normally without drinking  alcohol. Alcohol abuse is a major risk factor to many of the existing  chronic diseases  like – cardiovascular complications , Obesity, Diabetes and others. The causes of alcoholism include  high stress levels, exposure to alcohol drinking culture in the developing age of a child, low self esteem, and peer pressure.

Describe the administrative agenda focus related to this issue for the current and two previous presidents. He desires  to increase the number of substance abuse treatment centers in the United States thus increasing the treatment and management of the condition in United States. Obama’s main objective was to promote affordable health to all Americans. He incorporated the drug and substance  abuse in his health care agenda , as he noted it as a major contributor to various life threatening conditions of Americans and the uninsured with substance abuse treatment coverage.  President Bush addressed alcohol abuse by developing policies that limit the youths from accessing alcohol. He also developed tough penalties for persons ho violated various laws associated with alcoholism , like driving under the influence of alcohol.
Identify the allocations of financial and other resources that the current and two previous presidents dedicated to this issue. He allocated $5 billion in 2019 financial et to aid in the constructions of substance abuse treatment centers to help curb drug and substance abuse United States (Office of Management and Budget, 2019). He allocated $1.1 Billion to facilitate the war on drugs and substance abuse, which include alcoholism (Office of the Press Secretary, 2016). In 2000, he allocated $2.8 billion to facilitate drug and substance abuse in the country (Issues2000, 2000).

 

Explain how each of the presidential administrations approached the issue. He promoted affordable healthcare insurance to Americans and uninsured with substance abuse treatment coverage. He developed policies that limited alcohol accessibility among young people.
