A board of nursing is a government agency while the nurse association is a nonprofit organization. The board of nursing regulates the behavior of the nurse while the nurse association represent the interests of the nurse and take measures to advance nursing. The Tennessee Nursing Board has 11 members. Members live within 100 miles of Nashville and held various positions. The board is made up of advanced-practice nurses, registered nurses, licensed practice nurse, and one consumer (TDH, 2019). Board members are selected by a vote by the nursing board.
