During summer vacation, no one thinks about school or textbooks. Only when the first day of school is about to start, everyone scrambles for what they need. The one essential of many things the student needs is textbooks. Although tablets with e-textbooks are widely used around the world, most teachers still prefer textbooks. As for me, I think that in today's digital era, tablets still have more advantages compared to the usual paper textbooks. I am going to outline my arguments further in my essay.
Both textbooks and e-textbooks are rentable from the school library or online, such as Chegg, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble, to name a few. Usually, on the first day of class, the teacher will give instructions on what to get and where. However, textbook advocates argue that a tablet as a device for reading rented digital textbooks does not come cheap. In turn, you can borrow textbooks from the library without extra costs. Despite the fact that there is logic in this, it should be noted that you buy a tablet only once, and not only for educational purposes but also for leisure. Moreover, I consider this purchase profitable because it will potentially save money on future textbook purchases, the cost of which is significantly higher than digital ones. So, tablets are friendlier on a student’s money bag than physical textbooks.
