Introduction: ACCN: Professional Nursing Organzation American Association of Colleges of Nursing was established to provide an educational framework for preparing nursing students for the life that comes after university life. These essentials consist of 9 core areas which all represent something different. Clinical prevention/population health, Evidence-based practice, Informatics, Interprofessional collaboration, Organizational and systems leadership, Policy and advocacy, improvement of patient and population outcomes, Master’s-Level Nursing Practice, Quality, and safety. Since 1986, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) has published the Essentialsseries that provides the educational framework for the preparation of nurses at four- year colleges and universities. The AACN created the BSN Essentials and began in 1969 with just 121 member institutions. The first elected chair member was Dorothy Mereness in 1969. Dr. Emily Holmquist became the first part-time executive director in 1973.
