Research process involves problem identification, hypothesis formulation, literature review, data analysis, and dissemination of results. The process is based on scientific methods and the goal is to generate evidence to guide the nursing practice from primary to specialized levels (Chen et al. 2020). Conceptual analysis has contributed to the establishment of nursing frameworks or theories. Those theories are the foundations for nursing academic instruction, and provide guidance for clinical practice. Transferring theoretical ideas to nursing practice help to develop new models of care and redefine nursing practice (Chinn and Kramer, 2018).
