This is particularly important in interdisciplinary healthcare professionals. The study of nursing theories encourages critical thinking and reflection. Nurse practitioners can use these theories to critically evaluate their practice, identify improvement areas, and adapt to changing healthcare environments. In summary, nursing theory is valuable to the nursing profession, including nurse practitioners, as it provides a foundation for practice, fosters critical thinking, and guides ethical, evidence-based care. However, it should be seen as a tool to enhance practice rather than a rigid set of rules, and it should be integrated with clinical expertise to provide the best possible patient care.
