Designing a study plan is essential to completing my education at Walden University and taking
my National Certification exam to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Additionally, the study plan will be instrumental in tracking and focusing on specific milestone
activities and goals associated with these developments. The plan will also assist me with
organizing my work to reduce errors and missing deadlines. This journal entry highlights my
strengths and opportunities for growth according to my pre-test practice certification exam,
develop SMART goals and activities related to these goals, and describes the resources I would
use to accomplish these goals and tasks.
Summary of Strengths and Opportunities for Improvement
I managed to complete the pre-test certification exam and noticed that I am conversant with more
subjects and topics than I anticipated. I also noticed that I needed improvement in various areas.
According to my self-assessment, my strengths include physical assessment and pharmacology
across the lifespan, particularly among adult older populations. Additionally, I have strengths in
interviewing, assessment, intoxication and withdrawal, obtaining a physical history, and altered
mental status. Therefore, I noted that I have an opportunity for growth in treating children and
younger populations because I have little experience with the patient population
