What strategies would you implement to prevent further episodes of potentially illegal behavior?

To To prevent further episodes of potentially illegal behavior, as a future nurse practitioner, I would join an ethics committee, implement education on scope of practice for individual disciplines, and provide education on local/state/national laws on the illegal and unethical practice. According to Haddad & Geiger (2020), nurses at all levels of practice should join an ethics board in any nursing organization to advocate for patient care, as well as review ethical concerns (p. 6). By joining an ethics board within a nursing organization, I will be able to understand the process of an ethic review and provided education to my practice about the process and how to avoid unethical and illegal practices. Implementing education on scope of practice for each discipline and their code of ethics will ensure safety of practice and patients. According the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics (2015), in order for a practice to function appropriately and effectively, nurses need to be knowledgeable about the ANA’s Code of Ethics, laws and regulations, and the practices policies and procedures (p. 29). A nurse practitioner must be knowledgeable about ethics and laws concerning practice, the other members of the healthcare team should be knowledgeable about theirs too
