Worldview and Nursing Process Personal Statement Section 1. Personal worldview

I perceive the worldview as the framework that allows me to make sense of my life and world (environment), as well as insight on reality. The worldview links moral beliefs and actions, integrates spiritual, religious and cultural principles and elements to develop unified and meaningful understandings of the challenges and opportunities faced in life (Dominguez, 2020).Worldview and Nursing Process Personal Statement. I am a Christian and my personal worldview is that the Bible has the answer to all my life and moral questions, guiding me to make the right decisions and have a meaningful life that I can be proud of once it is over. Although I am a scientist (as a nurse), I believe in the existence God as the creator of all human beings and everything else in the known universe. As a creation of God, I live to serve God by following all his instructions as presented in the Bible to include the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-7, NIV).Worldview and Nursing Process Personal Statement. In addition, I believe that all human beings will face God’s judgement upon death in which they will answer for every action. This awareness informs my decisions as I always use the Bible as my guide in order to be worthy of an eternal life in paradise. Besides that, my identity as a Christian is defined by the belief that Jesus Christ is the son of God. Christ descended to earth as a human and lived a full life before being persecuted, dying on the cross in Calvary, descending to the realm of the dead for three days and ascending to heaven. These actions of Christ were intended as a sacrifice to save and redeem humans following the original sin of Adam and Eve.Worldview and Nursing Process Personal Statement. I can only be worthy of the salvation and redemption of Jesus Christ by following his instructions and living the life he intended. Since I believe in the truth presented in the Bible as the divine word of God, it now acts as the foundation of my life (Dickerson, 2013). For instance, Romans 13 informs all Christians to respect the government authority, thus allowing me to resolve any conflicts between professional principles and Christian principles. This implies that although the Bible acts as the foundation of my life and decisions, I am influenced by the laws, rules, regulations and principles around me to include cultural beliefs, common law, and relevant legislature. In fact, I would conclude that the world has secularized my views on patient care so that I am more inclined to serving the greater good without necessarily excluding my Christian beliefs. This has helped me to address contentious issues in my professional practice, such as abortion, stem-cell science and cloning (Underhill, 2013). Using the Bible as my foundation as well as the existing laws, standards, regulations and principles, I have been able to navigate the health care environment and provided patient care that I am able to live with.Worldview and Nursing Process Personal Statement.
