Off-label drug use among pediatrics has continuously been used for an extended period of time not only in the US, but also all over the world. Off label drugs refers to prescription of drugs which have not been scientifically proven to be effective for the illness being prescribed for. The effects of most of these drugs are therefore unpredictable since their reactions may vary from one individual to the other. The aim of this paper is to look at the circumstances under which off label drugs should be used in pediatrics as well as the strategies that can be implemented to ensure the safety of these drugs among children.
